Summary[]

As Yūko receives a call saying that the Yata Mirror is gone, the woman breezily tells Watanuki that she used two wishes of the Monkey Paw. As she arrogantly states that she will be perfectly fine, Watanuki and the others look after her worriedly.

Plot[]

Yūko receives a call from a store owner, stating that the Yata Mirror in their shop has disappeared. Reassuring the shop keeper, she mysteriously states that "the stone has started rolling."

At school, Watanuki and Doumeki are greeted by the woman, who informed the two that she gained the mirror she had always wanted using the Monkey's Paw. While Doumeki cautions her about common stories about the Monkey's Paw ending with the user having an horrible fate, she nonchalantly waves it off, saying that she would be fine.

Back at the shop, Yūko tells Watanuki that something can not come from nothing, that a wish needs an appropriate substitute or price to be fulfilled. The price for rain was the water of the school pool, the price of obtaining the mirror was the mirror disappearing from its store. Yūko says that it would be futile to try to stop the woman from making any more wishes. As Watanuki runs off to save his roll cake, Yūko says out loud how "a stone cannot stop by itself, it merely continues rolling towards the end of the hill."

At a library, the woman is working on her paper, finding it insufficient. Wishing for a better source, she turns to the Monkey's Paw and smiles.

At the school's physical education class, Himawari complements both Watanuki and Doumeki on a job well done. While Watanuki makes fun at Doumeki, they see the woman in high spirits, Himawari saying that while the Monkey's Paw was scary, the woman must have good luck as she is staying safe.

Afterwards, the woman is at her home, receiving a call from her professor complementing her work, and hearing that a publishing company wanted to publish her work. With the documents the Monkey's Paw had provided her, she was able to write about the Yata Mirror, which was a very good source for her. She confidently states her decision to use her last two wishes preciously, saying that it was her good luck that came across the Monkey's Paw, and that it is only she who can use it without harm.
